The Upper Gwynedd Township Commissioners have approved a plan to divert Merck and Company wastewater from its on-site treatment plant at the West Point campus to the Lansdale plant. The company would divert about 300,000 gallons of treated water per day through the Whites Road Pumping Station. Construction should start in August or September on a pipeline from Merck to Whites Road. Lansdale Borough Council approved the plan last year, and it still needs approval from the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection.
