The Montgomery County Election Board is disciplining two veteran administrators over a mistake that allowed un-registered people to vote in the 2008 November election. Voter Services Director Joe Passarella is suspended without pay for two days and Assistant Director Patricia Allen is suspended without pay for one day. They were suspended for failing to tell the board about the mistake after Pennsylvania Department of State officials ruled that the county was to blame. A low-level voter services employee allowed about 3,200 unaffiliated people to vote after receiving their names from PennDot, but the state found out later that they were not registered.
