The Warwick Township Supervisors have decided not to join Doylestown Township and Doylestown and New Britain Boroughs in a Central Bucks Regional Police Department. Warwick Supervisors Chairwoman Judith Algeo says the startup costs would be very expensive, even though a state study showed savings once the departments are merged. She says she believes regionalization is in the future, but now is not the time. The Doylestown and New Britain Borough departments have been acting as one since last summer, sharing the same chief, and Doylestown Township Police Chief Stephen White has been a long-time advocate of a regional department.
