Ground was broken Tuesday for Bucks County’s new courthouse, known as the Justice Center, near Broad, Main and Union Streets in Doylestown. It’s at the site of the old parking garage that was torn down over the last year. The current courthouse (pictured here) is outdated and overcrowded. The courts are moving out of the old building, but it will still house other county offices. At a cost of $84 million, the new Justice Center is the most expensive project the county has ever undertaken. Construction should take about two years.
