Gerlach Backs Cut, Cap And Balance

jim-gerlachRepublican Congressman Jim Gerlach (pictured here), who represents parts of Montgomery, Chester and Berks Counties, says the House, Senate and White House need to work together and resolve the two-year-old budget deadlock. He says the voters sent a clear message on Election Day last November.

“They want us to get our fiscal house in order.  They’re tired of these runaway deficits every year and our huge national debt, which is an accumulation of the deficits.  In fact the Cut, Cap and Balance approach is widely supported.  Over 70 percent of the people think that’s the best approach to go.”

The Cut, Cap and Balance Act calls for cutting spending by $111 billion, capping the amount the government can spend each year and requiring a balanced budget.  Gerlach says he doesn’t understand why President Obama and Senate Democratic Leader Harry Reid can’t see the light and go along with it.  He appeared Thursday on the WNPV talk program Comment Please by Univest.
