County Commissioner Candidates Promise Inclusive Overview

Leslie Richards and Josh Shapiro are candidates on the Democratic ticket for County Commissioners in Montgomery County. Josh Shapiro promises an all inclusive overview of how the county carries out its day to day business with taxpayers.

“The first thing we’re going to do is look at our finances, our workforce, work that is being done on behalf of the residents of this county. We know that there are people in this county that depend on the county for services for the young children. If they’ve got a two year old with autism, then they’re going to need to draw on county services. What is their experience like working with the county, are they getting the services that they need. We’re going to evaluate how those services are delivered to the people. Everything is absolutely on the table for us to consider.

Richards, a Whitemarsh Township Supervisor says she was involved in a similar process on the local level.

“When we came in we came in as a new majority at that time and we had to evaluate people and see what their job responsibilities were, and when that description was made and were they still relevant today and that is something we have to take a look at. Things change and you have to adjust.”
