Judge William Furber has been chosen as Montgomery County’s new President Judge. His colleagues on the bench elected him to the leadership position, and he will be sworn in for a five-year term in January. The 63-year-old Furber is a Lower Merion resident and U.S. Marine Corps veteran, and the first judge to preside over the county’s new Veterans’ Court. He worked as an assistant district attorney and in private practice before he was first elected to the bench in 1993.
