A new public sewer system in the Tylersport section of Salford Township is ready for hookups. About 100 homes and businesses are in the sewer district. Those with working septic systems do not have to hook up, but they must have an inspection done to certify that the system is working properly, and they still have to pay an infrastructure fee to cover the cost of installing the pipe. That’s $11,686 in a lump sum, several payment plans are available, and residents have until the end of April to pick a plan. Hookup costs vary from one property to another.
