Radnor Township Democratic Party Chairman George Badey says he can win the Seventh Congressional District seat in the November election.
He says first-term Congressman Patrick Meehan and his Republican Party are out of touch with the views of suburban voters.
“So many of my friends in Delaware County that used to vote Republican, some of them are still registered that way, are leaving the party in droves because they’ve been hijacked by extremists, by people that don’t share the same values that we do.”
Badey says the congressional district, which covers parts of Montgomery, Delaware, Chester, Lancaster and Berks Counties, underscores the extreme partisanship of the Republicans who drew the new district lines. If he wins, he says he will be the first congressman in history to represent Amish farmers in Lancaster County and people who live literally across the street from Philadelphia.
