Corbett’s Poll Numbers Down with GOP in Quest For 2nd Term

Governor Corbett’s approval ratings continue to be a problem as he looks for another term in office.  A Franklin and Marshall College poll shows members of his own party are indifferent and non-supportive of his candidacy.

“Only 34 percent of Republicans rate his performance as excellent or good. We asked an additional question of Republican voters whether the Governor should stand aside so that another Republican could run in his place in 2014 and 44 percent of Republican voters say he should step aside.”

Franklin and Marshall’s Dr. Terry Madonna, a frequent guest on WNPV says just 42 percent believe Corbett should run again. Madonna also says, recent comments by the governor over the issue gay marriage likely dropped his approval ratings. Corbett compared gay marriage to a brother and sister marrying during a t-v interview in Harrisburg.
