Delaware Valley College in Doylestown has hired former Pennsylvania Agriculture Secretary Russell Redding as its new Dean of Agriculture and Environmental Sciences. He held the state position for about the last two years of the Rendell Administration. He starts immediately and succeeds Dean Judith Schwank, who stepped down to run for the state senate in her home district in Berks County. Del Val says he will help the college decide how to use the 398-acre farm in Jamison that the college received last September as a gift from the Warwick Foundation and the Gemmill family. He says the possibilities are endless, and they will try to find the right balance between agricultural production and academic programs.
