A Central Bucks East High School teacher, suspended last week for a blog she wrote and posted on the internet, is not going away. In fact she went national Wednesday with an appearance on ABC’s “Good Morning America.” English teacher Natalie Munroe told TV viewers she was just blogging for a few friends, and she never thought anyone else would read her writings, but she stands by what she wrote about too many students being rude, disengaged, lazy whiners who curse, discuss drugs, talk back, argue for grades and complain about everything. She also fantasized about being able to tell parents their kids were, “Dunderheads, rat-like, sneaky and frightfully dim,” among other things. Superintendent of Schools Robert Laws said her complaints could result in termination, but her lawyer Steven Rovner had a different view when he appeared with her on “Good Morning America.” He said she did nothing wrong, and if administrators decide to fire her he will take further legal steps, possibly a constitutional case based on her First Amendment right to free speech. As for her future in teaching, Munroe said she has no plans for a career change and she would like to stay at CB East, even though it might be awkward.
