HH Teacher Talks Resume In April

wnpv_schoolsNegotiators for the Hatboro-Horsham School Board and teachers union return to the bargaining table next month. Contract talks set for April 14 will include the top lawyers representing both sides for the first time in months.  The teachers rejected the school board’s last contract offer in November.  The four-year deal would have raised their pay by a little less than 2.5 percent in the first year, a little more than 3 percent in the second year, and a little more than 3.5 percent in each of the last two years.  The school board has also proposed raising their share of the health insurance premiums.  The teachers pay either 12 or 17 percent now, depending on the plan they choose, and the board wants raise it to 23 and 29 percent.  Their old contract expired in July of 2009.
