Quakertown School Board members are looking for ways to cut the cost of a high school renovation project. The current cost estimate is $60 million. The school was built in 1954, with a number of additions since then, but it’s in poor condition. It has water in the basement, poor lighting and problems with the heating and cooling systems. It also has building code and security issues. The project is still in the design process, but work could start as soon as the fall of next year. It would take about four years to finish.
