Montgomery County Community College will offer dealer training for potential employees of the Valley Forge Casino Resort. Center for Workforce Development Director Brook Hunt says the college is still developing the curriculum, in partnership with Valley Forge, but he knows it will not be easy.
“Within that curriculum, for example, we have Blackjack/Carnival Games, 120 hours. It’s very rigorous, taught by talented facilitators, and these people have successful gaming experience as well as training experience.”
Doctor Hunt says they will have fall and winter sessions, timed for the spring opening of the Valley Forge Casino Resort, but there are no guarantees of employment. That is still up to the casino, be it Valley Forge or somewhere else, and the certification is transferable to other casinos in Pennsylvania and any other state that has casinos. Application sessions will be held October 10 through 13 at the Valley Forge Convention Center. They are free, but registration is required on or before October 5.
