MCCC Enrollment Sets Record

MC3Montgomery County Community College has set another enrollment record. As of Monday, October 10, the fall semester head count was 14,428 students, up by 54 from last year and the highest fall enrollment ever.  Over the last decade, enrollment has grown by nearly 50 percent.  College president Karen Stout says several factors are behind the growth.  The number of new students has continued growing, along with the number of students in the dual enrollment program, which lets them earn college credits while still in high school, and the number of students in programs that let them transfer seamlessly to four-year colleges and universities and complete their bachelor’s degrees.  She says older students are also returning to learn for new careers as a result of unemployment or under-employment.
