Inglewood Upgrade Moving Forward

North Penn School Board members have agreed not to move students to other schools during a renovation and expansion project at Inglewood Elementary, at Allentown and Weikel Roads in Towamencin. It should start this summer at a cost of about $14 million.  At a Tuesday night work session numerous parents made it clear that they did not want children from kindergarten though second grade sent to General Nash Elementary, and they did not want older students sent to Pennfield Middle School.

Work will continue while students are in school, and some will be moved to temporary modular classrooms on the Inglewood campus.  The plans call for heating, air conditioning, fire suppression and security improvements, a new roof and windows, a modern kitchen and two new classrooms.  The project should be up for a vote at the board’s action meeting on Thursday, February 16.
