Parents, police, educators and mental health professionals turned out Monday night for a School Safety Forum at North Penn High School.
North Penn Coordinator of Safe Schools Ray Wilson says every police chief in the district has offered support.
“They’re going to try to get the officers into the schools more often. That’s very important. We need to work with the police departments. We’ve had a lot greater coverage, and you never know how many things you can prevent by having a police car in the parking lot.
Wilson says the police in the North Penn School District are very well trained, and he is confident that they will handle any situation efficiently and effectively. He also says an armed presence inside the schools is possible.
