Area Baseball Heating Up

wnpv_sportsWith the warm weather already here, local baseball action is catching up. In the Perky League, the Lansdale Tigers currently lead the Collegeville Black Sox by a game and a half. Norristown and Nor-Gywn sit four and half games behind. Lansdale is lead in the hitting department by Jon McGlone with his .675 batting average. McGlone has hit safely in five of the last six games going 10 for 15 with four RBI's during that span. A game of interest this week will take place Monday night when Norristown travels to Nor-Gwyn. In ACBL action, the Quakertown Blazers went 3-2 for the week that included a 13-3 drubbing of Lehigh Valley. In that game, the Blazers recorded a season high 21 hits as former North Penn Knight Kevin Christy picked up his first win of the season. Quakertown will now play back to back double-headers this weekend beginning Saturday at home against Staten Island before traveling take on North Jersey on Sunday.
