Dock Grad Now a Pirate

Erik_KratzImagine making the all-star game. Imagine playing that game 45 minutes from where you grew up. Imaging playing that game in front of family and friends. Now imagine being told that they have to take you  out of that game! That's exactly what happened to Erik Kratz. Don't fret for the 30 year-old Telford native. He was on his way to the big leagues!
Kratz, a Christopher Dock graduate, was a career minor leaguer who was representing Indianapolis in Wednesday nights Triple A all-star game in Allentown. He was hitless in his only at bat when he got the news. He was heading to Pittsburgh to replace catcher Jason Jaramillo, who after hitting just .124 in 24 games for the Bucs this year, was headed to Indy. Jaramillo was a fomer Phillies farmhand.  The day had finally arrived. The 29th round daft pick of the Toronto Blue Jays, the guy that works a construction job in the off season to support his family-is heading to the show!
