The Ohio State Buckeye's were picked to win the Big Ten Conference by a poll released Monday at the leagues annual media day. Iowa was second while Wisconsin was selected to finish third. Michigan State linebacker Greg Jones and Ohio State QB Terrelle Pryor were selected pre-season defensive and offensive players of the year. Since the conference only announces the top three, it was unknown were Penn State stood in pre-season poll.
The Buckeye's are coming off a 7-1 league schedule and an 11-2 overall mark. They have won at least a share of the last five Big Ten titles. Penn State posted an 11-2 overall mark while going 6-2 in the league. The Nittany Lions season begins on AM 1440 WNPV on Saturday, September 4th at home against Youngstown State. The complete football broadcast schedule can be found on the WNPV website under "sports."
