Penn State Women Advance

The Penn State women's basketball team has moved onto the round of Sweet Sixteen. The Lady Lions did it with 90-80 win over LSU in the second round of the NCAA tournament. Germantown Academy grad Maggie Lucas lead all scores with 30 points. She was also one of five players in double-digit scoring. The fourth seeded Nittany Lions will now take on top seeded Connecticut on Sunday. It is the first time Penn State has advanced to the Sweet Sixteen since 2004. It will also be a re-match of the with UConn who eliminated them that year in the same round. The Huskies are coming off a record performance holding Kansas State to an NCAA Tournament record low 26 points in a 72-26 win. Penn State is now 26-6. LSU finishes 23-11.
