WNPV has their own version of fireworks with this weekends pre-holiday sports schedule. Celebration of our nations birth is a mid-week party this year, so WNPV radio gets you ready beginning on Friday night as we bring you the Feed The Children 300 from the Kentucky Speedway. Last season, Brad Keselowski ended Joey Logano's dominance of the race when he outraced Kevin Harvick on the 1.5 mile oval to earn the victory. The ended Logano's string of three consective (2008-2010) victories of the race. Saturday night, also from the Kentucky Speedway, it's the Quaker State 400. In last year’s inaugural race,
Kyle Busch crossed the finish line first for the win. Prior to the race, beginning at 3:35pm, it's Phillies baseball. The red pin stripes head to Miami to take on the Marlins. They do so with Chase Utley back in the line-up and the knowledge that the return of first baseman Ryan Howard is right around the corner as the man with the big bat has begun his rehab assignment with the hope of being back with big club when they return home after the all-star break. For the now the Phils are leaning on the bat of catcher Carlos Ruiz who heads into the weekend leading the National League in hitting with a .362 average.
