Coming Soon: Bowling In Lansdale

bowlingThe borough could have a new bowling alley as soon as this fall. It will go into the former Super Fresh Supermarket building in the Hillcrest Shopping Center on East Main Street.  It will have a bar and restaurant and 60 to 70 employees, and the investors will probably seek a break on electric rates based on the amount of money invested and the number of jobs created.  Lansdale has not had bowling since early one morning in March of 2007, when Lans Bowl on East Main Street, just up the hill from the Hillcrest Shopping Center, burned down in a four-alarm fire.  After a lengthy investigation, the official cause was never determined.  Lans Bowl, which opened in 1941, was one of the few bowling alleys left in Montgomery County.
