NBC News President Steve Capus, who grew up in Bucks County, called the WNPV talk program Comment Please by Univest Tuesday to congratulate the show and the station for their 50 years of service. He said network people really envy what local radio stations do.

“When you run a place like NBC News you’re broadcasting all across the country and all around the world and that’s wonderful and great, however what we are in awe of and envy is the fact that you make these personal connections every single day with people all around the Upper Bucks and Montgomery County areas, and these local business owners and people all through the area truly know you and know what that great radio station means to the community.”

Capus said the station has deep roots in the community, providing a reliable source of local information, and 50 years of that is a remarkable achievement.
