Horsham Township is getting a state grant to help it pay for rehabilitating and upgrading its oldest park.
Opened in 1953, Koehler Park is located on Horsham Road next to the police, fire and local government complex. Plans call for a new playground and picnic pavilion, as well as a drinking fountain at the dog park and new restrooms with flush toilets. The Community Conservation Partnerships Program grant of more than $144,000 will cover nearly half of the $300,000 cost, and the township and the Horsham Rotary Club will split the balance. The playground and pavilion should be finished by late next summer, and the projects requiring water and sewer service should be finished in 2013.
