The Hatfield Township Commissioners have approved a liquor license transfer for the Via Marconi Pizza Pub Restaurant. The owner plans to move it from the Towamencin Shopping Village to the new Hatfield Pointe Shopping Center, less than a mile up Forty Foot Road. It would be one of several businesses in a small strip mall that has not yet been built. The owner has submitted formal plans, and they are working their way through the approval process.
The license transfer also needs approval from the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board. The Pizza Pub should open in the new location sometime in the fall. Business is off at the old location because the Towamencin Shopping Village has lost its two anchor stores, Genuardi’s and Sears Hardware, and their spaces have been vacant for a long time.
