New Schulmerich Owner Says Business Is Alive And Vibrant
The world’s leading manufacturer of carillons and handbells, based in Bucks County, has a new owner.
Jonathan Goldstein is owner and President of Schulmerich Carillons in Sellersville.
He says many obituaries have been written for the bell business, but it’s not dead yet.
“People are producing new music. It’s not Google, it’s not Apple. We’re not growing at 6,000 percent a week. We are alive and vibrant and vital and we are shipping and making bells every day of the week.”
He says American manufacturing in general is alive and well.
“We are still an absolute manufacturing powerhouse. We’re doing it now with more machinery and more automation than we ever did, but global manufacturing still looks to the United States for innovation, and the world looks to the United States to make a good portion of everything that gets made. We’re alive and vibrant and we’re here to stay.”
Goldstein says he believes there’s still plenty of money to be made and plenty of good times to be had in manufacturing. He appeared Thursday on the WNPV talk program Comment Please by Univest.
