Chalfont Borough Council has approved a new overlay zoning district, clearing the way for a Giant To Go gas station and convenience store at Butler Pike and Bristol Road.

That’s Chalfont’s eastern gateway, and a number of businesses have been there over the years, but the site is vacant now.

In addition to the store, the seven-acre site would have a Univest Bank, a restaurant, a tavern and four apartment buildings with twelve units in each one.

The developer still has to go through the approval process and comply with all local ordinances.
