Montg Twp Borrowing Money For Community Center

The Montgomery Township Supervisors have voted to borrow $9 million to pay for a new community center and re-finance some old debt.

Supervisor Michael Fox says low interest rates make projects like the community center attractive and affordable.

It would have a basketball court, an exercise room and several classrooms.

The plans call for building it on a 13-acre site at Stump and Horsham Roads, across from the Montgomery Township Municipal Building, at a cost of around $5 million.

Construction should start next year.
