Two important folks from the broadcast business departed this earth in recent days. I never met Paul Harvey and wouldn't necessarily consider myself a huge fan. I did have the utmost respect for the man as a broadcaster; his ability to use the English language and weave mental images with his words and timing. Philly broadcaster Frank Ford also recently passed. He didn't have the acclaim of Harvey, but I met him 20 plus years ago and remember him as a classy individual. Ford took the time to advise this young broadcaster about the radio biz "if you love it, you'll find a way to do it." I do and I have. Both Ford and Harvey exuded something desperately needed in broadcasting and society these days---class!
