The three animal shelters operated by the Montgomery County S.P.C.A get some help by way of a grant of more than 74-thousand dollars. Executive Director Carmen Ronio says, the S.P.C.A can go through those funds in about three weeks, but he adds, the animals are cared for and fed. Many animals, he says, eventually find a home.
“We’re very fortunate in Montgomery County. We have a 97 percent adoption rate for our dogs and about a 75 percent adoption rate for our cats.”
The Montgomery County S.P.C.A runs shelters in Conshohocken, Perkiomenville and Abington. The non-profit received the grant through the Arthur E. Pflaumer fund of the Philadelphia Foundation.
