Lansdale Borough is poised to begin construction on a new municipal facility that will also include room for the Lansdale Borough Police Department. Borough Manager Timi Kirchner says, a giving the police department a new facility was the driving force for the new building.
“What they have now does not even come close to meeting their needs and there are a number of security risks, but the police are doing the best that they can with what they have. We need much better for that service to be done in the way is should be.”
Kirchner adds, Lansdale Borough hopes to be out of the existing building by November. She says, it should take 18 months to two years to complete the new building at a cost of nearly 10 million dollars. Kirchner was a guest on the AM-Edition Friday morning.
