Men over 50 years old should be tested for prostate cancer. Abington Health Lansdale Hospital will offer free screenings on Saturday, September 21st from 8am to 10am. The hospital’s director of community health, Kathy McCarter says, statistics show that early detection of prostate cancer often leads to successful treatment.
“The screenings are free on Saturday, September 21st. We really want to reach those men who are uninsured or underinsured because tests of this nature can be very costly.”
McCarter says, pre-registration is required for the free prostate screening. Anyone who would like to be screened can call Abington Health Lansdale Hospital at 215-481-2204. Registration closes on Friday. September is Prostate Cancer Awareness Month
