Souderton Borough Council will look to trim some costs associated with repairs and upgrades to the Chestnut Street Playground. The lowest bid was 470-thousand, far above the 325-thousand that the Borough set aside for the project. The Borough is hoping another bid process for playground equipment will lower the costs. Souderton Borough raised 90,000 dollars through its 125th anniversary celebration. The Borough also received 195,000 dollars from a Community Development Block Grant. Work on the playground is now likely to begin in the spring of 2014.
