Veterans are being honored and remembered for sacrifices they made on behalf of their country. Victoria Nevins son, Liam, was killed in Afghanistan on September 21st. Liam Nevins attended Owen J. Roberts High School and graduated from Bristol Borough High School in 2000.
“He loved being a member of the Special Forces. He was a great son.”
Carolyn Grashof of Fitbody Personal Training, will hold the 1st annual Memorial Boot Camp in honor of Nevins on Sunday, November 17th from 10am to 12pm at Charleston Park, located Township Line Road and Cold Stream Road in Phoenixville.Money raised at the event will go toward the Special Forces Charitable Trust.
Bucks County resident, Jack Urban, joined the Air Force in 1967. Urban says, he’s still in touch with several of the men he served with in Vietnam.
“Though we are not blood brothers, it definitely feels like we are connected in that way. I was in Da Nang, also known as Rocket City. We looked out for each other. It was a very tense environment with rockets exploding. I’m certainly lucky to be here today.”
Dave Gordon, Co-host of the WNPV program, Security Advisors on Radio, served around the world in the U.S. Marine Corps.
“We had a sense of duty. I cherish my days of being a Marine and serving my country. It made me a better person for serving the nation I love.”
