Medical Marijuana For Epileptic Children Proposed

Montgomery County State rep. Daylin Leach has co-sponsored a bill to help children who suffer from epilepsy with a less powerful form of medical marijuana. The Compassionate Use of Medical Cannabis Act, which would legalize the use of medical marijuana was unveiled on Monday by Leach, and Republican Senator Mike Folmer of Lebanon County.

“How can it be that we are willing to give children, highly toxic, highly addictive, highly damaging drugs which don’t work, but under Pennsylvania law they cannot get, non-addictive non-damaging, non-intoxicating, non-dangerous treatments, which show dramatic results.

Leach says, opposition to legalizing medicinal marijuana comes from the stigma of the word marijuana.
