Spoiled food due to the massive power outage can sometimes pass the smell test, but it’s probably not worth keeping around the house. Montgomery county Commissioner Chairman, Josh Shapiro offers some tips.
“Any food that was in a fridge or freezer for more than four hours without power is something you need to consider throwing away if it’s perishable. We have some safety tips that were put together by our County health board that is available to people at MONTCOPA.ORG
Shapiro adds, the Montgomery County Health Dept. is making stops at restaurants.
“We want to make sure that restaurants are not serving food that may be spoiled, especially those restaurants that lost power due to the ice storm.
