Former Montco. G.O.P Party Chairman, Bob Kerns can breath a sigh of relief, at least for the time being, after D.A. Risa Ferman dropped all charges in a case that accused him of using the sleeping drug, Ambien, to subdue, then allegedly rape a co-worker after an October 25th law firm party.
Toxicology reports have revealed that Ambien was not found in the victim’s system, which led Ferman to drop all charges. The case can still be prosecuted, according to Lansdale attorney Marc Steinberg
“You don’t need laboratory evidence or DNA evidence in order to prosecute a case like this. All you need is a victim to say, he raped me and for him to say, I didn’t. It’s what we call and oath on oath case.”
State Attorney General, Kathleen Kane, will review the evidence to determine if charges should be filed again. Marc Steinberg was a guest on the AM Edition Tuesday morning.
