They’re known as gypsy contractors and they’re out to swindle people, especially during the warmer months ahead.
They offer to perform a variety of jobs and tasks around your home, but often fail to finish the job or worse.
“The folks that show up in the spring time, they usually knock door to door and they say they can fix your driveways and often use cheap material or start the job and never come back.”
That’s Mike Bannon, head of the Bucks County department of consumer affairs. Bannon reminds people that anyone who does work on their home should have a contractors number with the Attorney General’s office. Bannon was a guest on the AM Edition Tuesday morning.
