The Schuylkill River is the Pennsylvania River of the Year. It washes the shores of 16 municipalities in Montgomery County along a 42 mile stretch of riverfront.
Schuylkill River Greenway Association Executive Director, Kurt Zwikl told the Montgomery County Commissioners that the river of the year designation comes with a 10,000 grant.
“We’re sharing it with Montgomery County and the Schuylkill River Development Corporation to promote river related activities during this celebration.”
This marks the second time in the past 15 years that the Schuylkill has been recognized as the Pennsylvania River of The Year.
