Unlike last year’s heartbreak and horror at the Boston Marathon, this year featured high security and an American to cross the finish line first.
West Norriton resident, Kim Douglas, was at the Boston Marathon last year and traveled again to take in the event again this year. Douglas says, it was an emotional day, especially at one particular point.
“I was actually at a corner near the finish line at one point, and everybody there in the whole section was singing the National Anthem. I started crying and I saw many people crying. It was emotional and awesome.”
