The latest scam that may visit your computer is a fishing scam.
E-mails are being sent out telling subscribers of Netflix that there’s a problem with their account.
“The email asks you to follow a link to a website. Once you get to that website, which is a phony website, they get you to download information which is spyware and it allows them to fish for information from everything to your credit cards to bank accounts and passwords.”
That’s Mike Bannon, Director of the Bucks County Department of Consumer Affairs, a guest on the AM Edition Tuesday morning. Bannon says, internet thieves are targeting Netflix because of the large number of subscribers.
