May is melanoma Awareness Month, a month that reminds us about the danger of being overexposed to the sun.
Dr. Laura Ferris is an Associate Professor of Dermatology at the University of Pittsburgh and a fellow at the American Academy of Dermatology.
“We have to remember that the sun is at its strongest between 10am and 4pm. Another important thing to protect our skin by sitting in the shade when that’s an option and by wearing protective clothing.”
Dr. Ferris, a guest on the AM Edition this morning, urges people to use sunscreen block of 30 or higher. For more information you can visit stop skin cancer.org
