The North Penn Water Authority has a new water tower in Franconia Township.
Tony Bellitto is the Executive Director of the North Penn Water Authority. Bellitto says the tower was raised Thursday afternoon over a three hour period.
“The capacity of the tank is 3 million gallons. We have constructed a water storage tank in about 20 years. In that period of time we’ve had significant growth and a number of customers in our area and an increase in water usage. So we needed to grow the system to keep in line with that.”
Bellito says Franconia Township is painted on one side of the tower. The other side reads, North Penn Water Authority.
