State Attorney General To Enforce Rules For Home Contractors

The State Attorney General’s office is moving forward with stepping up enforcement in finding unethical home improvement and home contracting businesses.

Mike Bannon, Director of Consumer Affairs for Bucks County, recently met with the Attorney General concerning the issue. Bannon says, all contractors are not being painted with the same brush.

“There’s many excellent contractors in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and those folks need to know it’s going to be far in the market place. If anybody knows of contractors operating outside of the law, maybe soliciting or going door to door, because we see a lot of that stuff happen all the time, they should either report it to the Attorney General’s office o that can call us at Bucks County Consumer Protection and we would be gad to stop these guys from engaging in this activity.”

You can call the Bucks County Consumer Affairs Department at 215-768-6022 or the State Attorney General at 800-441-2555. Contractors who earn more than 5,000 dollars a year are required to register with the State Attorney General’s office.
