Former Montgomery County G.O.P Chair Bob Kerns pleaded no contest in court Monday morning in connection with sex assault charges filed after a night out in October of last year when he was accused of sexually assaulting a co-worker at his law firm. A no-contest plea is not an admission of guilt, but the plea is treated as an admission of guilt in terms of punishment. Kerns was given a two year probation sentence, fined 500 dollars and ordered to pay his victim 150 dollars in restitution. Kerns also will have to report his address and employment to authorities for the next 15 years as a tier 1 Megan’s law offender. Kerns must also undergo a sexually violent predator’s evaluation.
