Governor Tom Corbett held a news conference in Harrisburg Thursday afternoon concerning the snow storm that blanketed the region with snow sleet and rain. Corbett first addressed the situation concerning the state’s emergency declaration.
The Montgomery County Human Services building in Norristown has been sold. It changed hands on Friday, during a transaction of more than 17 million dollars with a property management company. In the meantime, settlement has been delayed for the County nursing facility in Upper Providence. It’s under a 39 million dollar agreement of sale with Mid Atlantic Health Care. Commissioner Chairman, Josh Shaprio says some environmental and structural issues have been raised by the buyer while doing its due diligence.
“This has been a very amicable process and I don’t want to suggest any otherwise. An engineer has been doing work at Parkhouse already. So we can very quickly and easily take a look at some of these issues and compare all the different notes and make a final judgment on how to deal with these few remaining, outstanding issues.”
Shapiro expects a quick resolution of the issues, though a date for settlement remains to be announced.
