Scouting For Food Drive

Manna on Main Street is ready to stock its shelves for people who need the vital assistance. Manna On Main Street’s Director of Development, Kristyn DiDominick says, the “scouting for food drive” will be out on the streets Saturday morning.

“The Boy Scouts have left bags at doors last weekend and we encourage our neighbors to get up and go to the store or look around the house and see what you have and just put it in that bag and scouts will stop by and pick it up.”

DiDominick says the food will be turned over to Manna and other food kitchens in the area, where volunteers will sort the food. Manna also has 600 turkeys it’s getting ready to give to families for Thanksgiving.

Enrollment Down at BCCC

Enrollment is down 5% at Bucks County Community College.   Officials there blame the decrease on more adults returning to work in the light of a better economy as well as four-year colleges competing aggressively for a dwindling pool of high school graduates.   The combined enrollment at the three campuses of the college is currently about 10,100.   That's about 500 less than this time last year.   College officials are stepping up their efforts to attract students.
