A Bucks County Marine, who died more than three years ago in Iraq, has been re-buried at Arlington National Cemetery. Travis Manion’s remains were removed on Friday from Calvary Cemetery in West Conshohocken and taken to Arlington, fulfilling his wish of being buried there. He was 26 years old when an Iraqi Army unit he was leading and training came under sniper fire. Manion, of Doylestown Township, was serving his second tour in Iraq. Monday his best friend and Naval Academy Roommate, Lieutenant Brendan Looney of Maryland, is being buried alongside him at Arlington. Looney died last month in a helicopter crash in Afghanistan. Manion was a 2004 Naval Academy graduate who was an outstanding student and three-sport athlete at La Salle College High School in Wyndmoor. He was on the football, wrestling and lacrosse teams. His father, retired Marine Corps Reserve Colonel Thomas Manion, spoke at the gravesite saying his son and his friend were warrior brothers standing up to the evil that faces the world.
